SLFUE Chair Transfer and 37th Meeting at Peradeniya
The Chair Transfer Ceremony of 2021 and the 37th Meeting of SLFUE will be held on the 9th April 2021 at the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Peradeniya. The Second Issue of the Eighth Volume of the Sri Lanka Journal of Economic Research (SLJER) will also be launched at the event. A guest speech on " International Trade in Re-Globalized World" will be delivered by Dr. Mia Mikic, a trade economist and the coordinator of the Asia-Pacific Research and Training on Trade (ARTNeT). Prof. Upul B. Dissanayake, the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Peradeniya will grace the occasion.
SLFUE Workshop on “Introduction to CGE Modelling for Policy Analysis – The GTAP Model”

This workshop aims to promote the exchange of ideas among university economists conducting quantitative analysis of policies and economic issues under a Computable General Equilibrium (CGE) framework, specifically using the Global Trade Analysis Project (GTAP) model. During this short workshop, we will introduce the CGE approach, the GTAP model, its uses of economy-wide analysis of trade policy, and the way the university economists can incorporate these modelling approaches to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching of quantitative policy analysis.
